You will be amazed at what you hear.

Sunday 7/9: AMY CAROL WEBB: (2pm $12) Amy is a crowd-pleasing Contemporary Singer-Songwriter-Songweaver from Miami. Everywhere Amy goes, her music reaches into people's hearts and minds with a passionate and personal touch all her own. ALSO -- other happenings that same day: Amy will be presenting special music during the regular church service (which starts at 11 a.m.). Church ladies are preparing a light lunch to offer for sale immediately after the church service. And after the concert is over & we can switch gears (approx 4:30 pm is what I estimate), we will have a circle acoustic jam. Jammers/listeners are welcome. The jam will be dedicated to faithful audience member/concert supporter JUDITH ROSE . It's her birthday. www.amycarolwebb.com

Friday 7/21: VERONIKA JACKSON & TOBY BONAR - DOUBLE BILL. (8 pm $10) ABOUT VERONIKA: Altho she now lives in Atlanta, she's a home-town girl from St Pete. Her music is described as folk & blues & gospel. In her soulful, loving style just reaches out & pulls folks in. With Veronika you get to sing along. There's call & response. I challenge you to walk away from a Veronika Jackson concert without having a big smile on your face. From her website: Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, from a family of musical talents, Miss Jackson is the youngest of seven children. Being influenced by gospel, rhythm and blues to folk music, she has combined these styles and brings a flavor that is rarely heard or seen.
www.veronikajackson.info/ ******* ABOUT TOBY: Tampa Toby, a student of Roy Book Binder, is turning heads. Not long ago he started playing local open mics. Now he's playing regular gigs. One gig is leading to another. By getting out and being seen and thru word of mouth, Toby is creating quite a buzz. So much so, that he was invited to perform at the recent Tampa Bay Blues Festival - where the buzz grew louder. Per St Pete Times article by Louis Haw: "Despite a startingly brief apprenticeship, Bonar exhibits a remarkable musical gift. During {a Skipper's Smokehouse concert) he performed a bracing set of Mississippi Delta blues... By the time he finished a scorching rendition of 'If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day' on a 1931 National Duolian Resonator guitar, a few stunned members of the audience were left asking each other, 'Who the heck is this guy?' "

During another Skipper's appearance earlier this year, when he opened for Paul Geremia, praises were plenty. For example, one happy concert goer exclaimed: "All I can say is he gave one of the single best solo performances I've ever heard.."

SUN JULY 30, 5 TILL 9, BOBBY HICKS & FRIENDS: $10.
CONCERT takes place @ SKIPPER'S SMOKEHOUSE. www.skipperssmokehouse.com It's a FUNDRAISER FOR INNER CITY OUTINGS (AFFILIATED WITH SIERRA CLUB). http://ico.sierraclub.org/tampabay/
Bobby Hicks is a South Tampa native & resident - a singer-songwriter who is known for his "Colorful" personality. Inner City Outings mission is to provide opportunities for urban youth and adults to explore, enjoy, and protect the natural world. A few of Bobby's talented musical friends will also participate in the fundraiser, including Frank Thomas, the patriarch of Florida Folk Music; Jim Carrick, an outstanding guitarist/singer-songwriter from St Augustine; Eddie Parshall, Pamela Jo Hatley and Barry Moses, talented Tampa Bay Area folk musicians; and perhaps a surprise "friend" or two.
Per Ron Matus, St Pete Times: "... (Bobby is) one of the state's leading folk singers, a hot- tempered troubadour who moves audiences with heart-tugging ballads, a Yankee joke or two, and righteous anger about the sad fate of Old Florida.."
