CONCERT CALENDAR (APR-MAY 2006)
BLOG # 4 (2006)
In addition to the below Concerts in the UU Dome, I'm also organizing a TAFEE/Tampa Acoustic Folk Etc Enthusiasts Concert on May 2nd at Skipper's Smokehouse featuring CARRIE HAMBY & DAVID LEPORATI DUO. This Tallahassee twosome list their influences as the Carter Family, the Stanley Brothers, and the late great mandolin player Buzz Busby. David is also being influenced by California Honky Tonker Johnny Dilks. David plays mandolin and mandola. Carrie plays guitar and accordion. Carrie & David are adept at their instruments and their armonies are reminiscent of great old-timey duet singers such as Tracy Schwarz & Ginny Hawker.

Kraig Kenning: Armed with his dobro and passionate lyrics, reminds us how potent music can be. From Blues Festivals to Folk Stages, a Kraig Kenning show is a guaranteed hit.
"To hold an audience spellbound, that's what I live for." Although this is a mighty ambitious goal, after being treated to one of Kraig's amazing performances, audience members agree that he does just that. www.kraigkenning.com ....... TOBY BONAR: Per 12/29/05 St Pete Times article : "Despite a startingly brief apprenticeship, Bonar exhibits a remarkable musical gift. During a {recent Skipper's concert } he performed a bracing set of Mississippi Delta blues... By the time he finished a scorching rendition of 'If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day' on a 1931 National Duolian Resonator guitar, a few stunned members of the audience were left asking each other, 'Who the heck is this guy?'
